Description

AIS Aids to Navigation (AtoN) is the latest application of AIS technology. The AIS AtoN transponder can be installed in lighthouses, lanterns, buoys, other fixed and floating Aids to Navigation, or offshore platforms to achieve greater functionality by monitoring and broadcasting their status and other information. There are three types of AIS AtoN:

● Type 1 - no receiver (transmitter only) using ATDMA.

● Type 2 - transmitter and one receiver using FATDMA. ● Type 3 - transmitter and two receivers using FATDMA/RATDMA.
