o A power supply printed ciruit board. This PCB supplies the motor voltage required for achieving the desired low lever speeds. The output voltage and therefeore the lever speed are adjustable by means of a trimpotentiometer. The PCB is not required for Elas-5 systems.
o Pushbuttons for increasing or decreasing the ship’s speed. For the BUK-B and BUKC extended, these pushbuttons can be an integrated part of the control unit. For the BUK-C, they should be mounted elsewhere in the operating panel.
The standard motor speed setting is just enough to pull the control lever through the zero detent. If this is not required, motor speed may even be reduced further to decrease lever speed. With the standard setting, the lever will take appr. 45 seconds to move from full AH to full AS, whith the button pushed continuously. When pushed intermittently, it will take appr. 300 pushes to achieve the same. On an RPM scale of 150 AS – 0 – 150 AH this would imply appr. 1 RPM adjustment for each time the button is pushed.
The PCB can be mounted on top of the motor control PCB’s for Elas-3 BUK-C and BUK-B, hence the shape. If no electric shaft is used, the ‘legs’ can be removed to reduce mounting space.
